Project Overview
Edition is a £145 million private residential scheme on Brindley Drive in Birmingham city centre, rising on the site of the former Paradise Circus car park. Developed by Sphere Group (formerly Court Collaboration) and designed by Weedon Architects, it brings 581 one- and two-bedroom apartments across two towers: the 46-storey Centenary Tower and the 15-storey Park Residence. Midgard is delivering the build.
Edition is designed to run more like a hotel than a typical apartment block. It has a 24-hour concierge, a naturally lit 20-metre swimming pool, a spa with sauna and steam room, a skyline gym, private dining and a sky lounge on the upper floors, and a podium terrace. It is ABM Tiling's first project in Birmingham, and our works start on site in November 2026.
ABM Tiling's Role
Midgard has appointed ABM Tiling as the commercial tiling contractor for Edition, Birmingham. Our package covers the apartment bathroom pods and the scheme's amenity floors. In the pods we're installing BAL tanking, Regupol acoustic underlay and the wall and floor tiling. Each apartment is done in three visits, so we keep pace with Midgard's programme as it climbs both towers.
The amenity spaces are where the detail is. Working to Weedon's interior design, we'll lay Solus Ceramics' Caldera large-format porcelain (1200×600) through the receptions and feature stairs, and Marbalite Grip in the lifts. Caldera tiles and mosaics run around the pool, the spa and a Zen lounge with sand and pebble features. The pool surround is fully tanked. Its tactile edging and overflow detailing are being co-ordinated with pool specialists Barr + Wray. Schlüter-Systems DITRA uncoupling membrane, DILEX movement joints and antique bronze profiles complete the build-up, along with Kerakoll Fugabella grout. The curves on the steps are waterjet-cut.
Edition is also our second project with Midgard, after Brent Cross Town in London.
