ABM Tiling Expands Scope in Prestigious Hammersmith & Fulham Town Hall Project

Expanding Our Horizons

ABM Tiling was initially selected as the contractor for the ceramic tiling of the prestigious Hammersmith & Fulham Town Hall Project. This remarkable project is a part of a £155 million main contract led by Ardmore, with the goal of refurbishing and extending the existing Grade II-listed Town Hall building. The project's vision encompasses over 15,000 square meters of state-of-the-art office and public space, 204 new homes, and over 10,000 square meters of commercial space.

A Glimpse into the Project

The Civic Campus scheme revolves around the sensitive refurbishment of the historic Town Hall, preserving its rich heritage while introducing contemporary elements. Among the many challenges faced, a standout feature is the creation of a three-story 'Glass Box' extension, boasting 1,300 tonnes of structural steel, supported on 15-meter-high stilts that bridge over a major sewer beneath the building. This innovative design has transformed the Town Hall, providing additional internal space for a new glazed scenic lift and link bridges connecting the existing building and creating new connections.

Our Contribution to the Vision

ABM Tiling's initial role in this remarkable project was to provide high-quality ceramic tiling for the Town Hall interior, ensuring a stunning and durable finish. However, our journey with the Hammersmith & Fulham Town Hall Project has taken an exciting turn. We are pleased to announce that we have secured an expanded role in the project—installing ceramic tiles on the balconies and winter gardens, using a pedestal system.
